LINTELOO’s new AFRIKA collection

Renowned Dutch brand Linteloo brings together international designers and European craftsmen to create contemporary furniture and this year has been no exception. With the wave of Afro culture currently trending in main stream design with designers such as Yinka Ilori and Eva Sonaike doing great things for the design industry, African-inspired fabrics seem to be everywhere and the European design industry is starting to take note.

Italian designer Paola Navone was commissioned by Dutch furniture company LINTELOO to update the look of the Jan furniture collection.

She drew inspiration from the vibrancy of African patterns and created a wax-block-print upholstery fabric range to give Jan’s New Sofa and the multifunctional Jan’s New Elements, a new Afro-chic edge.

The designer also added a range of imaginative wooden home accessories and furniture pieces, made in Africa, to the collection.

We love the effort and translation of the wax prints unto furniture and hope this continues to translate in other aspects of design. There are more designers taking note and supporting the vision and it is evident from fashion to interiors to product and much more the West is looking to the African continent for more creativity, culture, inspiration and . Africa is now and we are loving it!
