Exploring water colours: Peter Kinithia

Peter Kinithia’s paintings reflect a free style approach of the human form. He prefers to work with water colours as it gives ample freedom to manipulate water and colours on paper to create light hearted paintings.

His use of bold stokes light up the canvas. There isn’t too much depth in detail but this is not necessary as the large strokes allow you to focus on the paintings in its entirety.

It’s so refreshing to see a different medium being used in African art, we are so used to seeing oils or mixed media so this makes a change.
