Featured Designer: Moira Koutsoudakis Life Architecture & Design

Maira Koutsoudakis is a designer that needs no introduction. She is the founder and principal designer at of LIFE architecture, interiors and product design Her firm is a multi- award winning company with works ranging in the areas of luxury hotels, residential, restaurants and product design. With such vast experience ranging in the hospitality and cooperate projects, She has been at the forefront of design in South Africa and beyond. Life employs a range of Designers, from Architects to Project Manager’s from all over the world to create functional design that transcend trends, style.

Most recently Life has completed numerous resort projects on the islands of the Seychelles, Madagascar, Mozambique and the Aegean. They also have their hands busy with civic, convention centre, spa, restaurant and luxury residential projects and the urban landscape on turn-of-the-century South African heritage buildings.

On the Product Design front, LIFE has been represented and retailed at the LIFE store locally and internationally at amongst others, at the acclaimed Kelly Hoppen and The Conran Shop in London, Paris, New York, Fukuoka and Tokyo in Japan and various stores in Germany, France and the Seychelles with original, own-brand South African manufactured products.

Moira has been part of Design indaba conferences held annually in South Africa and was a guest speaker in 2007. I must say she is one of the designers I really admire. She found her niche and has stood by it. Her interiors are timeless, aesthetically pleasing yet functional. Her company continues to evolve and she seems to be at the cutting edge of it all. She is where I’d love to be in the next 10 years. All things are possible!
