Hunter’s Marataba Game lodge, South Africa

Considered to be a meeting of ancient and contemporary African styles The Marataba lodge, South Africa epitomises understated luxury for African Safari lodge’s if there is such a genre. The luxurious Marataba Game Lodge features exclusive tented suites all of which are saturated with the sights, sounds and smells of the African wilderness. Designed by Architect Neil Plewman with interior design by Jill and Jackie Hunter

The mother-daughter interior design team of Jill and Jacqui Hunter added their own layers of history to develop the explorer/African trade route theme, creating a style described by Jacqui as ‘the ancient embracing the modern.’

The overall effect, far from feeling contrived, is comfortable, authentic and irreproachably stylish.
